Can we fish along the way? You may bring fishing poles, however, we do ask that you be respectful of other paddlers and mind your hooks and lines. Can my dog come? Yes, but we do have a store dog ready to greet you and soak up all the love you can give and we ask that you think twice before bringing your dog along on a river trip. Dogs moving around in the canoe can make the trip more hazardous and stressful than necessary, and the trip in our van with other customers is also something to take into consideration. If you do decide to bring your dog, there is an extra fee of $5. Are there age limits, young or old? There are no actual age requirements, but health limitations and paddling ability should be taken into consideration for anyone wishing to really enjoy themselves on the river. We want you to have a fun and enjoyable experience on the river. The raft trips offer a great time on the river for young and old alike--a great inter-generational trip. Length of trips? Trips vary in length, from one to three hours, but because your car is parked at the takeout, you can enjoy the river at your own pace and then go on to your next adventure. Trips depart from our shop every hour, on the hour in the summer season. Are reservations necessary? They are not necessary, but for the best service, especially for larger groups, we highly recommend that you call ahead. It also insures that we will have the equipment that you want and you won't be disappointed. What if it rains? You get wet! A little rain on the river is really nothing to shy away from, the Jordan is beautiful rain or shine. If there is thunder and lightning, however, we don't put trips on the river. Are there places to stop to eat or swim along the river? The river water is quite... refreshing. With the water temperature at about 55 degrees, any stops to swim are generally not very long stops. As always, safety of everyone on the river and respect for those around you are the most important things to consider. Be aware of your surroundings and make sure you are not in the way of others if you choose to swim. As far as picnic spots, their are no tables or trash receptacles at the public accesses, but since the rest of the river's edge is a pristine wilderness setting with dense trees and some swampy areas, the public accesses are the best places to stop. Please--whatever you bring with you, bring it out. Please don't litter, trash bags are available. What is the water temperature, river depth? Again, the water temperature is about 55 degrees in the summer. The river depth varies from knee deep to over your head. Is the river ever too low to navigate? Because this is a spring-fed river, river depth is pretty consistent, even with dry spells. You shouldn't have any trouble paddling the length of the river.
